Simply the Best: The Music of Tina Turner

Nov 7

Century II Concert Hall

She’s sold over 100 million records. She won twelve Grammy Awards. She was the first black artist — and the first woman — to be on the cover of Rolling Stone. For over fifty-six years she has been rock music’s leading female voice and has twice been inducted into the Rock ’n Roll Hall of Fame.

While her songs have broken records around the world her life represents one of music’s greatest comebacks and one of the world’s most powerful survival stories.

Performed by a trio of singers — led by two-time Grammy Award winning vocalist Tamika Lawrence and Broadway’s Shaleah Adkisson — Simply the Best celebrates the stories and songs that made Anna Mae Bullock one of the greatest performers the world has ever known.

Rock out to "Proud Mary," "River Deep, Mountain High," "Private Dancer," "Better Be Good to Me," and more — including the worldwide number one hit "What’s Love Got to Do With It."
